MOIXA USBCELL BATTERIES

Cool, Flip-Top AA Batteries

BatteriesEvery year, 15 billion batteries get thrown away. Using rechargeable batteries spares the environment and, in the long run, your wallet. If you’ve got a computer with a spare USB port, along with an AA-powered device or two—camera, wireless mouse, laser pointer, or electric toothbrush— you might find uses for USBCell batteries from Moixa.

The Moixa USB Cell batteries look like regular AAs, but you can flip their tops to reveal a USB plug. When they run out of juice, you simply plug them into a nearby USB outlet for a refill. Thus, if you happen to travel with your laptop and other electronics, you can simply leave your charger at home. Or bring the charger along, as these USB Cells can be replenished with approved nickel metal hydride (NiMH) chargers.

Convenience aside, the fact that they are NiMH batteries means they’re more environmentally friendly than NiCAD models that contain cadmium, a hazardous substance. And they are recyclable.

Title-Product-FYI

Instead of throwing batteries in the trash, take them to a toxic waste disposal area or a participating recycler. Discarded batteries produce most of the heavy metals—lead, arsenic, zinc, cadmium, copper and mercury—found in household trash. In landfills, those hazardous metals can contaminate groundwater and eventually make their way into the food chain.
