Super Inflammation Fighter

This 10-herb formula was created to combat the effects of inflammation, which is now recognized as a potential trigger for degenerative chronic diseases such as arthritis, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and forms of cancer. A Columbia University study found that Zyflamend suppresses prostate cancer cell growth and makes prostate cancer cells self destruct. What’s more, the study confirms that Zyflamend has COX-1 and COX-2 anti-inflammatory effects, although its anticancer effects against prostate cancer were independent of COX-2 inhibition.

Formulated by New Chapter, Inc., a 29-year-old Vermont company founded by herbalist Paul Schulick, Zyflamend contains 10 COX-2 inhibiting herbs: turmeric, ginger, holy basil, green tea, hu zhang, Chinese goldthread, barberry, oregano, rosemary, and Scutellaria baicalensis. Using a process they dubbed “supercritical extraction,” the company extracts herbs at low temperature without using toxic industrial chemical solvents. The delicate, volatile, and potentially active constituents of the herbs are left undisturbed.
